Colin Sphar is a US actor originally from Sacramento, CA where he grew up acting, singing, and dancing professionally. Colin attended Natomas Charter School Performing and Fine Arts Academy before going to Chicago to study acting at The Theatre School at DePaul University. He studied internationally at the British American Drama Academy in Oxford, England and the Roy Hart Centre at Malérargues, France.
His work on stage includes We Are Proud to Present a Presentation... (Theater Emory), The Legend of Georgia McBride (Nebraska Repertory), The Wickhams (Capital Stage), Luna Gale (Goodman Theatre, world premiere and Center Theatre Group—Ovation Award, best touring production), Posh (Steep Theatre—Jeff Award, best ensemble), after all the terrible things I do (About Face), Letters Home (Griffin Theatre, national tour), Romeo and Juliet (Southwest Shakespeare Company), and work with Victory Gardens, Primary Stages, Chicago Shakespeare Theater, TimeLine, Teatro Vista, Chicago Dramatists, and Sacramento Theatre Company. He works commercially and can be seen on film and TV in Liminal Vortices, Be Here With Me, Nine Lives, and Con Vex.
In Chicago, Colin co-hosts with Michael Turrentine a variety show at The Boxcar called The You're So Special, a community based night of artistic expression. He also plays with the Back Room Shakespeare Project.
